Sarah + Evan | Union Station Nashville Wedding Rehearsal

Although being asked to capture a wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner is rare, I couldn’t have been more excited when Sarah texted me asking me to shoot hers! Meet Sarah + Evan. I’ve known Sarah since we were 6 years old — we grew up together through school and Girl Scouts! And because life is funny, we both found ourselves living in Nashville within a couple of years of each other. Somehow, it was always comforting knowing someone from home was just a call away. When she first told me about meeting Evan, she was so excited. On a long drive back to our hometown, we both talked endlessly about these two new men in our lives, and how crazy it would be if we both married them. As fate would have it, 2 years later we are both married to those same guys, and happier than ever. Their wedding rehearsal was held at the stunning and historic Union Station Nashville, followed by beautiful views of downtown Nashville at Bridgestone Arena’s Patron Platinum Club. Thank you, Sarah and Evan, for allowing me to capture a part of such a special weekend in your lives! Congratulations!

Britney + Ryan | Downtown Nashville Engagement

Beautiful weather and a fun couple made for the perfect combination for this downtown Nashville engagement session! Meet Britney and Ryan. They are SO much fun to work with, and the three of us were cracking up throughout our session. Not to mention, they’re beautiful! These two were up for anything, including my suggestion of hopping in the fountains in front of the Nashville Court House at the end of our session! The Pedestrian Bridge, the Nashville Skyline, gorgeous sunlight and an amazing couple are the things every photographer dreams of — thanks, Britney and Ryan! I can’t wait for your September wedding!

Abby | Nashville Senior Photography

Oh, how I love a fun, creative senior session! Meet Abby — a fun, spunky, full of personality senior who is graduating and heading off to Lipscomb University here in Nashville this fall! This girl loves music, and that is A-okay by me. We got to incorporate everything from vintage suitcases, to a Crossley record player, her favorite books and her guitar for this awesome shoot on her grandparent’s beautiful property just north of Nashville. I know Abby’s mom is going to miss her girl this fall, but I don’t doubt that this girl is going to move mountains at Libscomb. Good luck, Abby!

Haley + Patrick | Virginia Maternity Family Photography

Going home to Virginia is always special because I get to spend time with some of my favorite people! My older brother, Patrick, and his wife, Haley are expecting their newest sweet baby in the next 4 weeks! I cannot wait to welcome this sweet little one to our family. I shot some maternity photos of Haley while visiting in Virginia in late February. Lucky for us, it was a warm(er) day, we had beautiful winter lighting — and look at that gorgeous, glowing momma-to-be!

Nashville Wedding Photography | Shane + Ashley’s Union Station Wedding

Prior to November, I had never been inside Union Station Hotel in downtown Nashville. I’ve driven past a million times, however I’ve never had a reason {or excuse!} to go inside. That is, until Shane + Ashley’s beautiful November ceremony and reception at Nashville Union Station. The location was stunning, and Shane + Ashley’s love was undeniable. They clearly have such a connection, and their love for one another shone throughout the entire evening. The details were perfect, and their small ceremony and reception were intimate and meaningful. From the simple black bridesmaids dresses, to the groomsmen {two of Shane’s sons stood up for him}, to their amazing getaway car that once belonged to Waylon Jennings! I am so grateful I got to close out my 2016 wedding season with their Union Station Wedding! And huge thanks again to Whitney Fletcher Photography for having me join you on the fun!

Nashville Senior Photography | Caleb Class of 2017

On a bright, sunny {and chilly} early-December afternoon, I got to spend some time with Caleb, a senior at Riverdale High School, and shoot his senior photos! Caleb is family through my husband’s side, so getting to hang out and shoot his senior pictures was especially fun! He is looking forward to his graduation this spring and soon after will be heading into the Marine Corps. Thanks for letting me capture this milestone!

Nashville Wedding Photography | My Top 5 Favorite Photos of 2016

Wow. Can you believe that 2016 is coming to an end? Me either! This year has absolutely flown by, and I feel so incredibly BLESSED to have been able to not only start Harp & Olive this year, but to have seen it grow so much. Speaking of growth, I’ve grown as well. Behind the scenes, I’ve taken more webinars and studied more business plans than I did in college. The growth of this business is so important to me, and being able to not only establish myself in a very saturated Nashville photography market, but push myself and grow creatively is SO important to me. I am beyond grateful for each and every client I’ve met this year, for the creatives that have and continue to inspire and believe in me {looking at you Whitney Fletcher Photography & Rachel with Along With You Video!}. Taking the leap of faith this year into the Nashville Wedding Photography & Wedding Videography scene was frightening. It was something I’d contemplated for years, and with the not-so-gentle push from my husband, I can say it was one of the most invigorating and challenging steps I’ve taken in a while {thanks, husband!}.

I wanted to share with you all my top 5 favorite photos that I captured this year. I cannot wait to see what exciting opportunities 2017 bring to my small business!

5. I love this shot of the bridesmaids at Shane + Ashley’s Union Station ceremony. Their chic black dresses, fun shoes, and friendship shined through the entire day.

4. This baby girl will probably always make my favorites list – because she’s mine! Harper, thanks for being so photogenic, and I’m sorry that you’ll always be my test subject. Love, mom. Edit_IMG_3690

3. Oh, how I love the bridal suite at Meadow Hill Farm. These gorgeous bouquets and this shot from Mallory + Joseph‘s August ceremony is absolutely one of my faves!Nashville Wedding Photography

2. This image was the second most liked photo I had on my Instagram account this year! And I definitely know why. {And while you’re at it, give me a follow!}  The skies were gray for Michael + Krista’s Owen Farm wedding, but it made for one epic photo.

1.  And my numero uno, hands down favorite image I captured this year came from Aldo + Jenny’s proposal. This ring and the frost still on the leaves from the early morning December shoot were just perfection.

Nashville Engagement Photography | Aldo + Jenny Hot Air Balloon Proposal

When I heard from my good friend Whitney of Whitney Fletcher Photography that Aldo was searching for a photographer to capture his December proposal, let me tell you I was beyond excited. First off, I LOVE a good surprise, plus throw in a hot air balloon ride before asking someone to marry you? Sign me up! I spoke with Aldo and he told me of this grand plan to propose to his girlfriend of two years, Jenny, after a hot air balloon ride over Franklin, Tennessee while they were in town visiting from Dallas. The day finally came and even though it was freezing cold, the sky was blue with not a cloud in the sky, and I could see how at ease these two were with each other immediately. Jenny told me how they met (in a bar but she gave him the runaround for weeks after!) and then she also gave him a hard time for having not proposed yet! Little did she know, just a couple of hours later, Aldo got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. She said “Yes!” and we then took some engagement shots right after! I loved getting to meet these two, and having the opportunity to capture such a special memory for them is such an honor. Congratulations, Aldo and Jenny!

Nashville Family Photography | The DeLuca Family

Fall temperatures, gorgeous sunlight, and the beautiful DeLuca Family filled my Sunday afternoon! I always love family sessions, and this one was no different!  I know how important capturing these memories are; kids grow way too quickly. I met Jessica, Jeff, Grace, and Paul at Stones River Battlefield for the first part of our session, then we headed over to Oaklands Mansion (where Jessica and Jeff actually had their wedding reception!) to get a few pictures before we lost the light. This family is gorgeous and were so much fun to get to know!

Nashville Family Photography | Tony + Marie

Just a girl and her dino. I was contacted by Marie to take their family photos after she had seen the gender reveal photos I had taken of her sister this summer. Tony, Marie, and their beautiful and full of personality one-year-old little girl, Belle were SO much fun to spend time with at Cannonsburgh Village just south of Nashville! This little girl LOVES her dino. She also loves to play with balls, but her dino friend happens to be her favorite. The love that is between this little family is undeniable, and they (especially sweet Belle) kept me laughing the entire session! Thank you for allowing me to capture your family!
