I talk often about my love for heirlooms and how important they are. So, when Jamie & Alex said they wanted to have their Franklin, TN engagement session in Jamie’s grandma’s backyard, I was all in. What a more special spot than one so close to her heart!
When I help plan couples engagement sessions, I always ask if there’s a spot in Nashville that’s meaningful. It may be a coffee shop, or a specific area of town where they had their first date. Or maybe it’s the Nashville skyline because it’s where they met. Having your engagement session look and feel like your love is truly so important. It’s the beginning of us telling your love story!
Jamie wanted to keep their engagement session intimate and chose her grandmother’s backyard in Franklin, TN. And would you look at the sunlight here!? It was an absolutely perfect location. And the fact that she has family ties here means even more.
We laughed, and their sweet dog Annie definitely stole the show! Look how beautiful this pup is! I absolutely love when dogs are included in my couples engagement sessions! Dogs are part of our families and getting to love on couples fur babies is always a favorite thing of mine!
We will be celebrating these two at their wedding at 14Tenn in Nashville in March with sweet Annie as the flower girl! I am so excited to get to tell the next part of their love story!

Garrett’s proposal to Alexandra was the latter. A Florida Couple, […]

There are some love stories you feel lucky to witness from the very beginning — and Gabby and Miles are exactly that kind of story for me. I had the joy of hiding among the vines to capture the moment Miles got down on one knee, and now, months later, I found myself standing on […]

October engagement photos at Cheekwood Estate & Gardens — Nashville, Tennessee There’s something about October at Cheekwood that feels almost cinematic. The light goes golden earlier, the gardens shift into their rich autumn palette, and the whole estate takes on this quiet, unhurried magic — which made it the absolute perfect backdrop for Jon and […]

There are venues that feel like backdrops, and then there are venues that feel like characters in the story. The Estate at Cherokee Dock is the latter — a place so layered with beauty that every turn of the grounds offered something new, something unexpected, something made entirely for photographs. — Rachael Knaak, Harp & […]

Some places hold more than memories — they hold the beginning of everything. For Ethan and Veronica, that place was Vanderbilt University. Where It All Began Long before the moment his mom called for me to photograph their Vanderbilt proposal, their story started on campus — woven together through shared experiences, late nights, and the […]
