Brittany and I’ve been really close friends since we were in the first grade and I moved to the same street. Our group of friends has remained tight-knit over 20+ years of friendship, and it is so amazing watching everyone go through new seasons of life. However, she and Adam will be the first in our friend group to take on twin boys! These two will make the most amazing parents to these babies. And I know they’re already SO loved by many.
I was a bit stuck on where to do their maternity session, but Brittany’s one request was to somehow incorporate Christmas (her favorite, who can blame her). Then, I had the bright idea to use the snowy ski slopes at The Omni Homestead Resort just 20 minutes from our parent’s houses. The resort isn’t yet open for the season (hey warmer weather), so that meant we’d have the snowy mountain to ourselves. Perfect.
After we took some snow-filled photos, we hopped over to the Homestead Preserve Dairy Barn area. It’s a gorgeous spa and wedding venue, and I love their white barn, silos, and open fields. As the sun was nearly set, Brittany had one last request for her session. The venue that she and Adam were engaged at was right down the road, so we stopped there and snapped a few photos. It was past dusk at this point, so I had to get creative and use the headlights of their SUV to help me a bit.

I feel so honored to have been asked to capture Brittany and Adam in this season of life. I absolutely can’t wait to see these new boys and watch them grow with mine! Thank you, Brittany and Adam, for allowing me to capture your pregnancy!

October engagement photos at Cheekwood Estate & Gardens — Nashville, Tennessee There’s something about October at Cheekwood that feels almost cinematic. There are venues that feel like backdrops, and then there are venues that feel like characters in the story. The Estate at Cherokee Dock is the latter — a place so layered with beauty that every turn of the grounds offered something new, something unexpected, something made entirely for photographs. — Rachael Knaak, Harp & […]
